But Peter Pan is miles away.

"What Sarah Said" by Death Cab For Cutie

And it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to father time
As I stared at my shoes in the ICU that reeked of piss and 409
And I rationed my breaths as I said to myself that I'd already taken too much today
As each descending peak on the LCD took you a little farther away from me
Away from me

Amongst the vending machines and year-old magazines in a place where we only say goodbye
It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend on a faulty camera in our minds
But I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose than to have never lain beside at all
And I looked around at all the eyes on the ground as the TV entertained itself

'Cause there's no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news
And then the nurse comes round and everyone will lift their heads
But I'm thinking of what Sarah said that "Love is watching someone die"

So who's going to watch you die?..

The instrumental intro leaves many listeners enthralled without yet having heard a word. This song goes through the pain and suffering of losing someone.

The video portrays a man and a woman. The woman is dead which is why the man does not notice her. She writes on the mirror, "He loves me" and she writes on her hand "a little?" and on the wall "a lot!" and on her arm, "passionately?" In her (Sarah's) opinion, love is watching someone die, so the fact that he wasn't there by her bed when she died, she thinks, as shown at the end when she writes on the mirror, "he loves me not." After the rewinding, it shows her writing, "he loves me" and then the video ends because he does, in fact, love her.

For a more in-depth analysis, here is what Calimary3, a youtube user thinks and I completely agree with her.

Calimary3:

"Okay here's what the song is about-
The girl is dead in the video becuase she fell ill and lived out her last days in a hospital bed. Her and the man loved eachother and the they both knew that eventually she was going to die.

So on the last day of her life she died in the hospital bed and the man was not there with her on that day. The girl than thinks that he never loved really loved her at all becuase he wasn't there for her, but in truth the man could not bear to watch her die becuase he loved her too much. Ya know "But I'm thinking of what Sarah said, That love is watching someone die- So Who's gonna watch you die?" (Whos gonna love you?)And since he wasnt there she then believed he never loved her all along.

What ahe writes throughout the video is a summary of the two's relationship "He loves me" (at first- "A little") - (Then later in the relationship- "A lot")- (Then with more time- "Passionatly")- (As the relationship grows "Like Crazy!") - (Then as she dies becuase he wasnt there for her she believes "Not at all.."

Also at the end of the song the recorder in the video keeps rewinding because the man wishes he could go back and be there for her to show her that she does love her---- Regret.

And the man is not a drug addict, He actually took up smoking after her death because he was depressed and in sorrow.

Then when it REWINDS it shows the truth about the situation and that is "He loves me" and the rset of the video doesn't play again because when it rewinds it portrays the truth! Man I'm good! =D

I came to another realization! The first time the video actually plays is the misunderstanding between the two- How the man loves her so much but Sarah thinks that he does not love her at all because he wasnt there."

Listening to: I'm Ready by Jack's Mannequin

You're not an orphan.

Music has shaped me. And molded me. And crafted me.

In essence, it has created me.

It does not abandon. Never judges. And always wraps its comforting arms around me.

At least once a week, a song title and artist, lyrics, a link to the music video, and my personal opinion will be posted here.
